I am pretty much stuck on the names Shaelan James, Griffin Alexander and Riley Sebastian for boys, but girls are what I want the opinions on.

Scarlett Rose (I personally love)

Ffion Isabella (I love the double f, pronounced like fiona without the a)

Demi Christine

  1. From your boys list I *love* Griffin Alexander. It strikes exactly the right balance between classy, distinctive and fun. And the name flows so well...

Out of the girls names you have listed, I would go with either Scarlett Rose or Ffion Isabella. Demi Christine isn't a bad name, but it doesn't flow as well as the other names (both names being two syllables makes the name a little monotonous). In addition, I'm not really into nicknames as full first names. This is purely because it leaves your child with less name options to use. There are pro's and con's to both Scarlett Rose and Ffion Isabella. With Scarlett, I think the name sounds very glamorous. It also has a pretty -let ending, which I really love (Violet and Juliet are two of my favourite names)-- and, of course, the name has great literary associations. On the other hand the name rhymes with 'starlet' and the first syllable is the word 'scar'. The name has been rapidly rising in popularity. Ffion is a cute Welsh name, but I don't like it nearly as much as Fiona. It will probably always be confused for the name Fiona as well... I'd recommend that you use the name Fiona and have Ffion as a nickname. A combination like Fiona Scarlett looks and sounds very pretty to me.

    EDIT:

Wow. It's really honourable that you've actually admitted your age and everything on this forum. But you haven't exactly lied --you only said you were 'stuck on' names, not that your wife is pregnant or whatever. There are plenty of young teens that come on this forum and ask for naming advise for their fictitious children... You certainly aren't the first.

I'm seventeen too and am kind of obsessed with names. Don't feel embarrassed about asking a question on this site. It's normal to ask baby name questions even if you're not an expectant parent. =]

  2. Scarlett Rose: It's alright, the name Scarlett always strikes me as some p**n star name though. It sounds good with Rose.

Ffion Isabella: I like the name Fiona but Ffion looks weird and sounds weird in my opinion. Also, I don't see the point in the double f's, they don't make a different sound and just make it look weird since the first F is capital and the second is lower case. I like Isabella, though.

Demi Christine: I think it's a very cute name! My favorite of the 3.

  3. Griffin Alexander for a boy. Shaelan sounds like a girls name, sorry! I LOVE Scarlett Rose, that's what I want to name my girl when I get older.

  4. Well, I know you're stuck on the boys' names, but I don't really like them.  I don't like any of the first names for the girls either.  But I LOVE the middle names.  Why not combine some of them into a girl's name?  I like:

    Christine Isabella

    Rose Isabella

    Christine Isabella Rose

Don't like Scarlett, Ffion, or Demi, personally.  But it's YOUR baby, your decision.  Bye! x*x

  5. Scarlett Rose

  6. Scarlett Rose sounds very classy. I like the older style names, reminds me of Audrey Hepburn or something :)

Ffion Isabella is also very nice, and very different

Demi Christine, is ok, but Demi sounds kind of masculine. Just my opinions :)

  7. Scarlett Rose is beautiful!

what nic-name would you give her tho?

  8. Scarlett's beautiful, I'm not sure I like Rose with it though. Maybe Mae or June or Ivy.

Ffion is too hard to pronounce and spell.

    I like Demi, though.

  9. Scarlett Rose.  I would never name my child a name (Ffion) that she would have to spell and pronounce for people for the rest of her life.

Scarlett is easy, not common, and a pretty color!

  10. No way! Yuck! Ewwwww! Those girl names are weird and gross.

I like Scarlett Rose if i had to chose

  11. Demi Christine sounds the best

  12. Scarrlet Rose is beautiful

I dont like Ffion at all though i like isabella

    and i dont like Demi
