Just wondering....?

Question

if a new track for motogp is built.. what happens? Are there more races? I guess not but... How is then choosen which tracks to be used for the new season?

By the way, is it true that next year there won't be a race in Turkey? I hoped to go and see Vale race although he never had luck there :/ Oh well.. if it's true, I'll have to travel a bit longer! At least I will have a good reason to go to Italy! The races there are always great! :)

If the track is good enough then yes they make more races. Normally however the circus is for approx 17 races. Somtimes more. Sometimes less.

Indy 500 is the perfect example. Great track [ in reverse ] but true, one of the current tracks my go. Turkey is a great show, so hopfully not.

The best racing "atmos" is at Mugello, Assen, and if the weather is good Donny Park, UK.

I guess they replaced Turkey with Indianapolis (USA).  I am glad to see another race in America but Indianapolis?  Give me a break!

I guess a lot of location decisions are based on money, as in it takes bundles to get a track built (or brought up) to FIM standards. Plus you want to try to attract a big audience if pos. and sponsorship.

I wonder if that's why they put the new Qatar circuit at the start of the season? It has the smallest attendance (as I don't suppose it attracts a lot of the beer drinking public!) but probably gets loads of t.v. money being the "opener"
