Jvc camera lens problem?

Question

ok so my jvc camera isnt working right. I tried to record but i just get this sorta distorted image in black and white kinda like static only like 3 times worse...(i can play tapes but not record) the model number is grd71us and i tried google but it only showed me that jvc is a piece of *bleep* but i still need to fix it somehow since im going on this trip..does anyone know how to fix it?

*note* also i think this problem is also known as the lens cap error

I am dealing with the same issue.  Mine says lens cap error and there is a black screen when I try and film.  It is normal when I play my old recorded video, but I cannot film.  I am also going on a trip in June, and would like to use my camera...does anyone have any answers for me?
