Kapiolani commute to Pearl Harbor

Question

I will be working at Pearl Harbor and wanted to know what the commute from Kapiolani to Pearl Harbor would be like. What is the Kapiolani area like?

I am assuming you are referring to Kapiolani Avenue, which runs from Moilili almost to downtown.  It is a mix of different neighborhoods.  There are some nice high rise condos on Kapiolani & the surrounding side streets.  There are also pockets of three story walk ups that don't look especially inviting.   You could probably count on about a half hour commute to Pearl Harbor (more if you are living at the far eastern end of the street).  The whole commuting thing varies tremendously depending on whether school is in or out.  It can add at least a half hour to your commute.  But I think, no school, it will probably be < 30 minutes, so with school, it might be 45.  Just guessing.
