Katara cosplay/costume advice?

I'm planning on an Avatar the Last Airbender cosplay and I want to make a Katara cosplay from either the Western Air Temple(WAT) or Day of Black Sun (DoBS). If you have any tips like what type of fabric you used or how you attached things like with heat and bond, please tell! Also, knowing how long it took to make your costume would help.

Anyhow, for your question: I don't really know much about making costumes, but no mather what: DON'T choose velours! It looks so cheap and ugly and.. just don't choose it xD

I'd recommend you to go to as many fabric-stores as possible, to figure out, which one looks most like Kataras.

If I were you, I would try to find something that looks kinda old and rough.

making a costume can take a lot of time. when i made my costume it took me about 3 weeks!
