Does the empty seat make anyone else think that Melandri could be riding the Kawasaki in Bruno. I know he is riding the Ducati at Laguna but Bruno is another question. Will Ducati keep marco any longer than Laguna ?

  1. HRC wont let Marco near a bike again after what he said about the Gresini bike last year.

As for the empty seat at Kwack, it should go to Chaz Davis.

Not just saying that because hes a Brit, but he won Daytona for them, and it will give him a good practice on the ZX before Laguna witch he has already ridden on a MotoGP Ducati when Hoffman was out.

It would be a nice thanks you from the guys in green to give Chaz a chance. He should have never left the GP cirrcus.

  2. Marco just doe,s not seem to be able to get his head around the ducati i agree that he would be much more suited to the kawasaki ,i just hope he doe,s not go missing from the grid after all when he had the honda he was up their at the front at so many races,i also agree that ducati,s test rider would be a suitable replacement. The last thing i would like to see is Marco going into world superbikes as we have seen with riders like Checa , Tamada, Nieto

  3. Melandri should finish 2008 with Kawa. He might be more ridiculous than West! haha I just don't understand why Kawa didn't take Olivier Jacque for replacing Hopkins?

But yes I gotta admit Melandri is a shame for Ducati. He should go back in 250 or tries his chance in WSBK with Aprilia next year.

  4. Hi proc

I think this will all be down to the legal people now. Neither side will want to break the contract for the financial implications. But at the same time, I'm sure that both sides will want to separate. So I guess its down to finding an amicable divorce solution. If they can get that then I'm sure we won't see Marco on a Ducati at Brno.

As for going to Kawasaki............I'm not sure that it would be a good idea for either of them. Marco has obviously lost a lot of confidence, and it would be a big risk for him to get on a machine that hasn't been very competitive this season. If he fails on the Kwacker, it could mean the end of Marco in Moto GP for the foreseeable future.  Likewise, would Kawasaki want to take the risk? Who's to say that Marco's gonna make a miraculous recovery. I think Marco's future lies with Gresini Honda.

I think Kawasaki's best option will be to use Jamie Hacking. Results won't matter so much a he's new to the formula. Plus he's Anglo American, the same as Hopper, and has the same personal sponsor in Monster.

    P.S   Casey's looking unstoppable again

  5. Hey Proc

I think Neil may have hit this one on the head, so nowt much to add to his answer - only, I hope to see Melandri back on form on something soon!
