Kayaking in alberta?

I want to go kayaking in alberta but i'm having a very hard time finding anywhere that rents them.. any suggestions, web sites would be great!

i'm starting in calgary so closer to calgary the better...

  1. If you're starting in Calgary ,keep in mind the rivers all eventually run East.

    There's a really cool provincial park around Carseland just East of Calgary, it's called Wyndam Park.  Be careful because there's a weir there.  I would go down the Bow River until you hit a place called Mckinnon Flats (you'll know you hit Mckinnon Flats because all of a sudden you'll see flat faced rock formations in a coulee with a small parking lot and rolling hills going down the side of a hill... you better take a map anyways... it's really popular for fly fishermen).

    The Bow River is your best bet if you are starting in Calgary... you'll see some beautiful stuff.

    Either that or start just after the weir in Wyndam Provincial Park and go down to Hidden Valley on Siksika Reserve.  It is the most beautiful prairie paradise I've ever seen.
