Kayla Catch??

Question

has anyone heard of this spin variation of the biellmann?

i saw it on youtube and the girl who created it was 14, name was Kayla Doig.

anyone tried it yet?

It's like Ji Eun Choi's or Caroline Zhang's Pearl Spin. THe difference is that Kayla points her toe.

And no... Although I can do a Biellman, I cannot do that.

And yes, I have tried it, its not the easiest thing to do...lol

I dont know why she got to name it though as hers, others to do too but in the reverse. Theres probably even better spins people have made up out there, why havent they been named??? I think its kina unfair...

omg it is so much fun. some of my friends at my rink and i have tried it, and have gotten it pretty mastered. but it makes you pretty dizzy! its lovely to see though. also, we have tried Caroline Zhang's "pearl" position spin. that is so much harder, but once again, very pretty. we have also been trying to make our own spins too. hehe. like that's working out!

but back to your original question, i have tried it many times, and its way fun! try it out!!!

It doesn't seem like a NEW spin... many skaters have done it, just not the way Kayla does.

Kayla bring her boot to her nose and THEN pulls it up to a biellmann.

Other skaters I've seen do the biellmann FIRST and then bring it up to their nose...

i just watch the videos. Caroline and the other REALLY felxible girls sometimes use this move coming out of a belliman. it is not as pretty as the pearl, but nice going kayla!

Ah its so hard! It Hurts! Good Luck doing it.

You start with a layback and after about 3 rotations, twist your backto the left and catch your blade, pull it up to your head.
