  1. This all depends on how much of how serious you are.

Having a week off running is OK and you dont loose much fitness - in fact the rest and the eagerness to get back to it can make up for not running. Many running programmes for half or marathons suggest a very easy week the week before goes to show the experts recommend it at the peak of fitness.

2 weeks off and you start to loose fitness and coupled with your holiday excesses (perhaps - good food, and relaxing) you might loose more fitness than you would expect. If you were just having 1 week holiday I would have said to just go and enjoy the break

You could find a route around your accomodation to do maybe 3 or 4 miles run (this will keep your fitness level near what it is now) - if its hot do it early or late when its cooled down. Swimming - aim to do half an hour or so to maintaion your fitness level, even if swimming uses different muscles your lungs and heart still get a work out.

During the day keep active if you can - walk to places to look round for example

  2. Don't they have a beach you can run on ?

I would swim at least 30 minutes non stop each day.

is that ok in a hotel swimming poll

  3. To keep running fitness, you need to do just that: run. What's stopping you from waking up at 4 am for a quick run?

  4. 30 - 40 minutes per day. 5 times a week

  5. try going on google earth you can plan a run route on there thats what my fella has done you see lots of runners but you need to be up early to beat the heat.
