Kermit Cintron recovering from ring fall
Despite his failed attempts to be the first boxer to take flight, Kermit Cintron has been released from hospital without any problems.
The 30-year old Puerto Rican was stretchered off and taken to hospital having fallen out the ring and landed on a table in his fight with Paul Williams in Los Angeles on Saturday.
At first “The Killer” wanted to fight on, however he didn’t look in a good way and the doctors decided to cart him off to hospital to be on the safe side. Leaving a confused Paul Williams all alone in the ring.
It was thought at first that Cintron had smashed his head and sustained neck and shoulder damage. His neck put in a brace and he was very gingerly moved from the Home Deport Centre. He would have heard the decision as he was loaded into the back of an ambulance and taken to hospital.
However after all that it seems that the only injuries Cintron suffered was having the wind knocked out of him and a bruised ego. He was released around 1.28am local time and was already bemoaning the decision and claiming he won the fight as he left the hospital.
He later said: "I was winning the whole entire fight. I don't understand. Doctors, they don't really know boxing. I was fighting the perfect fight of my life against Paul Williams and they took the fight away from me.

"I'm disgusted with the whole situation. I told Josh (Dubin, his manager) that they need to look at a tape and do something to reverse the decision. I know I won the fight. If they don't reverse the decision, I think I'm done fighting. "
Who knows what will happen now, Williams may unfortunately have other fish to fry and no time for a rematch. He is the most avoided boxer around at the moment and any chance of a world title, be it with Floyd Mayweather, Sergio Martinez or anyone else would be too good to turn down. So unfortunately Cintron may no longer be on his radar.
Poor old Cintron, maybe he can get it struck from his record, there is talk of him going into retirement but hopefully he will stick about. Maybe one day he will see the humour in it and fight under the nom de guerre “Kermit the drop”.
