The nearest railway stations to Khajuraho are Harpalpur (94 km) and Mahoba (63 km). These are relatively small stations with less facilities, although you should be able to get transport from there to Khajuraho.

Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh) (175km) and Satna (Madhya Pradesh) (117km) are the convenient large railway stations for Khajuraho. Satna is on the Allahabad-Mumbai main line while Jhansi is on the Delhi-Chennai/Bangalore mainline.

A new railway station has been built in Khajuraho and the railway line has been extended from Mahoba to Khajuraho. Trains will start on the new route shortly.
