  1. Don't worry, your son is probably just fine.

My little brother wet the bed till he was nine. Probably after that. I read that that it is normal for boys to wet the bed longer then for girls. It is not abnormal for boys to wet the bed at his stage.

I have never been a mother, but I grew up in a family of 11, and I know quite alot of these things. ;)

    Don't worry. He's just fine. :)

  2. That's not completely unusual.  I've heard of teens still wetting the bed.  Go see a doctor.  He may have some ideas.

  3. My son did this up until around age 12. We actually found a company that sold a pad that was placed under him and it had an alarm. The problem was that he slept so hard he just didnt wake up. I had an alarm by my bed also and so when it went off I would get up and go wake him.  It worked. I dont remember the name of the company we purchased this from. Lots of kids do this and especially boys. We decided to do something about it because he was really embarrassed and motivated to stop the bedwetting. Most kids out grow the problem unless there's something else medically related going on.

    Good luck!

  4. It could be anything. There are many reasons for kids to wet the bed still. It could be that he sleeps so soundly that he does not wake up. He could have a weak bladder still. He could have an infection. First call the doctor and have some tests done to make sure that he does not have an infection or any other medical problem. Then start setting cut off times for liquids. Like no drinks an hour before bed. See how it goes and then see if you need to make the time earlier.

  5. Mabey its him that is afraid to tell you whats wrong but as a parent tell him "its ok to tell us anything, even if your being bullied at school".

  6. There could be many reasons for bedwetting, not all of them serious! A school nurse once explained that it is often a matter of bladder training. She cured my friends 10 year old boy, in three days, by encouraging him to drink a huge glass of water 15 mins before he went to bed. Strange I know, but the logic was, before he went into a  deep sleep, his body recognised the feeling of a full bladder and sent urgent messages to the brain to wake up and deal with the situation. This trained the body to recognise these signals later on in the night. I was very very sceptical, but I promise, it did work. This is a common problem, don't worry about chatting to a doctor, or indeed the nurse. They will have been asked about this loads of times before.

  7. When the school says they think it it serious they might mean it could be a medical problem.

    Take him to your pediatrician

  8. This will likely pass very soon. Some children's bladder control can be very late to develop. I imagine that the child you are referring to is probably on the small side compared to others.

Certainly, never mind what the school says.
