Kittens with diarrhea?

Question

I have 4 kittens about 3 months old. 2 of them seem to have chronic diarrhea with mucus and a slightly protruding a**s. They are also incontinent leaving little smears of f***s all over the place. Other than that they appear very healthy, they have great energy, eat well, have beautiful coats. I have not noticed any worms or anything in the stools. Im wondering what could be wrong.

Why is it so hard for people to choose to take their animals to the vet?

I don't think anyone on yahoo answers is going to help you more than a vet would. And if you're too lazy or poor to take them to the vet, you shouldn't have them in the first place.

People say those kind of things because in your original question, you did not state that you were going to take them to the vet at all. You could have said, "I plan on taking them to the vet, but I just wanted to know if anyone had any similar experiences with this sort of thing."

Then you wouldn't have had any negative comments.

As to what could be the problem, a number of things. Like I've said before, diarrhea, like vomiting is a common symptom that could indicate many problems.

A few could be:

1) Parasitic worms

2) Giardia or Coccidia

3) Food related problems

4) Inflammatory Bowel Disease

5) Bacterial Illnesses

6) Viral Illnesses

What's wrong?  They are sick and very sick if the a**s is protruding out!  They need a vet, and they can dehydrat and die.  It's most likley intestinal paresites, Coccicia, Rounds, Hooks, Whips, Tapes, or even Gardia!  You can only see two types with the naked eye, but could also be something most seriouse like FIP.  There is lots or things it could be but with such youngsters, they need a vet:)  Best of luck and hope all is well in the end.

Not trying to be mean, it's just like another said you should have said that, most just want a quick fix, and to pay nothing out.  That's why, but really they should be at the vet today, with pro. a**s.  This isn't something to wait on.
