Ok, so I have been suffering from a SEVERE case of Social Anxiety for the last 5 years of my life. It caused me to become dependent upon alcohol for every day activities such as shopping, going to a mall, parties, meeting with clients, even talking on the phone (sometimes). I explained this to my doctor and he prescribed me Klonopin. Now I read all of the horror stories about taking Klonopin and Alcohol ...I have been on the Klonopin for about a week now and it is working great. I have not needed to drink AT ALL. and I am also only taking it as NEEDED and not a daily thing. My question is, if I know that Klonopin has been out of my system for at least 24-48 hours can I still drink when I go to a party? I like to enjoy wine/champagne at cocktail parties. Thanks for your help.

  1. you will be fine! It won't kill you, it just intensifies the drunkness and can make you really messed up or black-out. If you haven't taken one in a day or so you have nothing to worry about!

  2. Yes, you can! I take this pill as well. As long as you do not have a daily dose, you should be fine. 48 hours is a better time frame just to make sure the pill is completely out of your system. If you do have an anxiety attack that night, I would suggest taking one and leaving. It does take approx. 30 minutes to get through your system.
