Knitting...?

Okay so whenever i knit i can never get a straight edge....idk what i'm doing wrong....any advice? *sry 4 double posting this but i can't find my last question so....anyway sry...*

  1. If you don't have ribbing to start with, the edge will automatically roll. When you are finished your project, you need to block it or lightly press with a damp cloth.


  2. Sounds like it's tension (tightness or looseness of the stitches as you knit along).  Also, it's possible that you're adding and subtracting the number of stitches you have on your needle (with out realizing it).

    If it's tension, all I can think of is watch how tight or how loose you have the yarn as you knit it.  I know that my edges squared up the more comfortable I got with knitting.

    If it's the number of stitches you have on your needle(s), count your stitches every couple of rows.

  3. you have to try to keep an even tension and also make sure you have the same amount of stitches for every row, count as you go.

  4. At the beginning of every pattern there is a tension guide, if you check this first, making sure you are using the correct size needles. Then once you no you have the correct tension you can start knitting your item, making sure you have got the correct number of stitches on each row by counting them.
