I'm writing a story with characters born in very different years and I'm having trouble finding sites with any good names i can use. I don't want the name to me TOO unique or difficult to pronounce- this would take away from my story. But i also don't want any names such as: John, William, Joseph, Mary etc... soo here are the genders and birth year of each character:

Male- 1973

Female- 1925

Female- 1897

Male- 1849

Male- 1739

I know kinda jumpy with the years ^_^

If you can help, I'd really appreciate it a whole lot<3

  1. male 1973, maybe Keith, Paul, Denny, Roland, Markus, Brent, Derrick

female 1925-Tessa, Isobel, Claire, Stella, Bette, Eleanore

Female-1897 Amelia, Isabella, Iris, Maisie,Lydia, Elizabeth

As for the 17 year old, Grace is a nice name. I like Emily and Emma, too.

  4. Male- 1973: Shawn or David

Female- 1925: Emma, Charlotte, Pearl, Jessie

    Female- 1897: Fannie, Maggie, Maddie

    Male- 1849: Albert, George, Frank

Male- 1739: James, Jamie, Nathan, Aaron

  5. These are names from my family. And also some names of friends of theirs. I know you say you don't want names such as John, Mary, etc. but you say you want it to be authentic. So I am giving you names of real people around that time.

1- Larry, Barry, 2 Edwards, one called Eddie, Mike, John, Kevin, Mark. All in their early 20's in '73 and all in Michigan. Denny and Ray for little boys in '73.

2- Hazel, Anna, Rose, Edith. All in early 20's in 1925.

3- Anna (different Anna). Would have been 29 in 1897.

4- Milton, Oscar, Orville. In early 20's in 1849.

Don't know of anybody in 1739. I could look up authors and presidents to see when they were born and how old they were in what year, etc but I don't feel like it. Too lazy. :P

  6. Rip off names from Lord of the Rings.
