  1. it's a sport i'll never play.

  2. if you have played before and well you should have no problem but if  you have not a select team might not be whats best for you <3

  3. A select team?  I hope you have previous experience. Do they take novices and train them?

If not, learn the positions and what the rotation is, be able to jump well above net height (unless you are little kids right now), hit the ball hard and accurately or at least keep it in play (practice passing, setting, hitting, serving), serve well, be a team player (how to set the better spikers up), be athletic, like flying in the air and landing on your stomach to save spikes.

  4. endurance and mobility.

  5. heart and a lot of it and additude and some good skill

  6. good focus, team spirit and cooperation.

You have to really focus on the game and give your best. Service is one of the things you should definitely develop well. This makes you earn a point if you know how to and if you're great in it and if you don't then you'll be giving away a point to the opposing team. Now that's the bad thing about it.

  7. Ok well what you have to know how to do is spikes, over hand serving, bumping, and setting.....if you know the basics of volleyball, then you are good to go, but all that you have to remember is that you have to practice to perfection...a good way to practice is grab a friend and go to a local park, then bump it to each other, stepping back to create a further distance, and the same thing with setting...and for serving, stand serving line to net distance...and practice both your under hand serves and your over hand just to make sure that you know how to do both. If you don't have a park close to you then find a wall that you can practice on, throw the ball up on the wall, then bump it, you can do this in a school gym after school. So no matter what just remember that practice makes perfection!

  8. you have to have a coachable personality. coaches would rather take someone who listens and is capable of getting better than a really good player who has a horrible attitude. dont be afraid of the ball or digging. always stay awake and alert. do what the coach says. know the positions and techniques. stay positive.

  9. I think a good team has a mix of talent and personality.  Of course everyone has to be good, and get along.  However, you need some players that are really technically strong and consistent, and you also need a mix of really athletic and teachable kids as well.  Height is always important, but don't discount shorter girlst that are coordinated and can be crafty as well.  You also need several REALLY consistent passers, since that is the basis of being able to set up an offense and be consistent.  Good luck!

  10. good positioning skill and techniques.

  11. PERSONALITY... U HAVE TO BE READY TO DIVE 4 THE BALL AND NOT FEEL LIKE U LOOK STUPID.. U HAVE TO SHOW HEART FOR THE CAME AND THAT U HAVE GOOD TEAM-WORK.... YOUR SKILL CAN TAKE U BUT SO FAR... COACHES LOOK AT HOW COMPATIBLE U R W/ UR FELLOW TEAM MATES JUST AS MUCH AS THEY LOOK AT HOW HARD U PLAY.. GOOD LUCK!

  12. well i play for a select team but it all depends how good the team is how much you really have to know. but if you've never played before it would be kinda hard so i hope you have experience if not try and watch a volleyball game and if you know anyone who plays volleyball then ask them to help you. but when you try out for the team and dont make it dont be disappointed its hard to make one of these teams so you should just be happy u had the chance to try out and just work harder to make the team next year. if you do make it be happy because you will have a great experience. but the basics you should really know how to do is pass, set , hit and serve so if you know how to do that then you will have a great chance of making the team so good luck
