Kodak EasyShare MD863 question... please Help.?

Question

Alright so i just bought this camera and I was told that if I didn't want a memory card that my camera would hold at elast 100 pics but it can only hold five?? what am I doing wrong? I'm only taking normal pics too. Was the lady at the store wrong?

Funny enough, I've just sold my old EasyShare this morning after about 3 years good service, & now have something else.

My new camera has 52mb of internal memory, according to the instruction book, (take a look at your booklet ?).

Taking into account that 2GB is now about average for a memory card, & U get abt 800 ? pics with that, my 52 goes into that about 40 times, so, 40 into 800 equals 20 pics., (keeping to internal memory), which is quite close to what I get on my new camera. (probably about 12 in fact)  So, yes, 100 does seem rather a lot ! A bit of over zealous sales-man- ship perhaps !

I don't know if you can change the megapixels on your camera ? Some cameras have a range U can choose from, like...2..5..&..10. The less the No. the more pics you get, but I think that's only when you're using a card, but the more pics, the worse the quality. Perhaps U already know that.

But, yes, 100 does sound rather a lot. Are U considering buying a memory card ? U can get them very cheap on Amazon. (SD...compact flash...XD etc.

Did you try changing the quality of the pictures? I have a Fujifilm FinePix camera and mine can hold like 500 pictures if its on the lowest quality.

Push menu button and scroll until you see a star that indicates picture quality. Choose the lowest (1 star) and you will be able to save more pics. You can find the micro SD cards on sale - it's really a good investment if you want to take and save a lot of pics, and you will be able to choose better quality.
