Manchester City’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184 has gone on to admit that he is looking to go on and win the FA Cup with his team before the season is over, since he feels that by winning the FA Cup, the team will be able to make something out of their season,
which has proven to be a massive failure for them.
City went on to lose out on all the possibilities of them winning the league this season, as they went on to lose to Tottenham by three goals to one. The loss was then followed up with Manchester United going on and winning their game against Aston Villa.
This means that United have gone on to win their twentieth league title, which pretty much means that the rest of the season will be a fight between the teams to fill up the rest of the spots in the top four.
None the less, Kompany feels that City shouldn’t go on and give up hope just yet, since they have a lot to do in their upcoming game against Wigan in the FA Cup.
He feels that if the team was to go on and end up coming out on top in that game, then they would prove to be not as big of a let down as most team fans are claiming them to be.
When talking about the way the season has gone for City and how they could still salvage something out of it, the Blegian international is reported to have say:
"Having tasted success we obviously wanted to win the title again this year, but there are five or six clubs who started the season wanting to win the title as well and it's not always possible"
"But our season also depends on our result in the [FA] Cup final and we shouldn't forget that.”
He has also urged his team to be rather cautious going into the game, since he feels that Wigan could go on and surprise everyone, given the fact that they made it all the way to the finals.
"Wigan play good football, their coach is Spanish, and they play in a system which is unique in the Premier League," he continued.
