  1. Basically, the people in the penalized industrial 1st and 2nd world nations are already suffering from artificially high energy prices created by the Kyoto Protocol.  Also, citizens of 3rd world nations are suffering as their totalitarian governments are relocating them to make room for carbon offset forests, so that the dictators can sell carbon offset credits to the masochists in the developed nations.  BTW, these forests are usually created after destroying producing farm lands and rain forests.  With food shortages as they are, destroying farm land is not a good deal for the peasants.

The big gainers are the people like Al Gore, who broker the carbon offset trading, and for the petty dictators who sell the offsets.

Oh, and just to be clear.  These effects have already happened.  These are not predictions.

And yes, Kyoto has not affected emissions.  If anything, it has worsened emissions by giving those who feel guilty about it an "out", and in all of the rain forest that has been burnt to make room for the carbon sinks.  But these are my own speculations.

  2. Big business which rely on  manufacturing processes which create massive pollution will lose their disgustingly large profits, (shame) we might lose a little in taxes but smaller cars will be cheaper to run, so we'll gain there. Any existing/new businesses more in tune with environmental issues will gain, as will nature in the long run.

  3. This project is unrealistic. The world obviously has to consume more and more as its population grows.
