  1. positive- great family dogs, beautiful, good with kids

negatives- THEY CHEW EVERYTHING! My chocolate lab pup ate the wooden handles off our coffee table. When the new ones came in the mail, she chewed through the fed-ex box and ate them too. We started spraying a mixture of Tabasco sauce and water on her favorite household chew toys to slow her down a bit.

They are hyper puppies and need a lot of running room. They get big fast and that only adds to the destruction (which is humerus sometimes)

they will grow out of it though and calm down. Usually after 2 years of age.

    great dogs!

  2. labs are great family dogs, perfect temperament and very loyal. good bird dogs, good sport dogs, good outdoor dogs. a few cons are hair, and hips... other than that, great dog, but DO NOT get a lab if you do not expect to spend a lot of time with the dog, they become family members. I don't have a lab, but i have a labradoodle... only because they do not shed and they are hypoallergenic. i searched for a breeder for 6 months before i found the right guy. the guy i got my dog from had breed labs for 25 years, here is a link to his website, he will be able to tell you every thing about labs that the books and internet cant provide.

  3. Positive; Very lovable, playful, they like kids.

Negative; Shed a lot, need to be walked often, and they can get really big.

Hope this helps, I used to have a chocolate lab. :D
