I have an old cupboard that I am turning into a temporary bar. I want to put pictures on it and lacquer it down, but I don’t know what kind of lacquer to use. I am looking for something that is simple and quick, and will last for at least a year, until I get my permanent bar.

  1. Or you could always get a piece of glass or plexiglass cut the same size and slip pictures underneath so it doesn't damage the pictures or the top of the cabinet

  2. Use polyurethane varnish.  It resists all stains and is clear enough not to put much color over your pictures.

  3. The secret is more to do with preparation-the better you prepare it the better the finish.Theres lots of different types of Varnish so depends on your preference if its just clear varnish then its a simple job.Blackfriars is one of the best. You need only to use internal type.
