Ladies play free?

Question

Just curious how you guys would feel playing in an open event (something like $1000 for 1st) for which you pay a $42 entry fee but ladies play free (and $150 goes to the top lady finisher). Would you feel gypped if you got knocked out (or into the loser's bracket) by somebody who didn't even pay to get in? This is what the Viking Tour is doing.

Which tourns do you mean?

We have a top ladies player as well as a ladies pool in the calcutta - but if  a lady player doesnt want in the pool she does not have to be included-the ladies pool is one bid

But free entry no every entry pays the same fee

As a matter of principle, I would find it unfair.  I'm a big supporter of equal rights, but all this sounds like is affirmative action.  I wouldn't feel any shame from being beaten by a skilled player, man or woman, but why should anyone get to take home the pot that they didn't throw anything into?  Good question, Lea.  I didn't know they were doing this.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
