Laminate Hardwood floor cleaner????

I just bought a home and have laminate hardwood flooring. I have tried everything to get the residue off. The floors look so dull. I dont know what to do...Anyone know of a method of removing the residue? Please help!

  1. Check the manufacturers instructions.  I would try just using very hot water and a clean mop to rinse it well, you may have a build up.


  2. Get on your hands and knees and scrub with a clean rag and clean water- try it with Lysol.  Change the water in a bucket as soon as you see it getting dirty.  Make sure you dry it with a clean dry rag as you go.  The Lysol should work (it is sold in bottles and is yellow liquid) to get the residue off.  I recommend doing this because you are probably just moving the residue around.  If there is still residue after this I would try doing it again.  After you get the residue off I would recommend using a product made for laminate.  I am a cleaning professional and have cleaned post construction homes and this is the method always works for me.  Good luck.
