  1. Compaq is for kidz....they are junk.

Dell and HP sell of bad prototypes to them ....

Get a new Toshiba best bang for buck.

    Have a gr8 day,

    NightHawk

  2. You aren't a gamer if you think that the computer that you mentioned would be sufficient for gaming. Even 3 or 4 year old games would be taxing that system.

I'm looking at $1000 laptops that will suck for gaming, and they have far greater specs than that. Unless you're going to spend $1500-2000+ on a gaming laptop, stick to desktops for gaming.

Compaq is sketchy. I had one ten years and it was god awful. I will never buy them again. They may have become better now that HP owns them but I don't know.

I'd stick with HP, Sony, Dell, Toshiba, the big ones.

And you really won't be finding any stores selling non-Vista laptops, unless it's some third-party store.

  3. most the laptops are not for gaming cuz it will be damaged with a little time if you use it for gaming ,

i advice you to buy a desktop computer , if you want it for gaming ,

and as i guess the desktop computer is so cheap ,

the important thing on the gaming the memory size of the Display Adapter ,

it should be at least 125 ,

also the RAM at least 1 GB ,

the processor i advice you to take Intel not AMD cuz AMD getting hot quickly , and the speed not less then 2 GHz .

    note :

the computers or laptops for gaming need a lot of money .

    and thanks

  4. Yeah, i would not recommend that machine. Compaq's are crappy and the specs are very poor. go for a toshiba (they ARE good!)  or a macbook (tho not cheap). look for something with an intel centrino (core 2 duo) processor, dedicated graphics, at least a 120GB HD and 2GB ram - do you really need a laptop? you are better off buying a decent desktop if you are a serious gamer

  5. No offense man, but that's not that quality of a laptop, I doubt if you could play World of Warcraft without lag on that computer. Sounds like your mom might be a little too thrifty. If you want a gaming laptop you are gonna spend around $900-$1300 on a laptop.

If you're a dedicated gamer you'll realize laptops are garbage for gaming. Buy a desktop: more power for less cash.

  6. find better, compaqs suck, get a mac or vaio

  7. hi, with only 512mg ram your machine will drag if you game.  look into an alienware machine or a dell xps.  you need 2+gb RAM and a heavy duty graphics card.

  8. For gaming you need something like this or better:-

    Intel core 2 duo@ 2.2ghz, 2mb cache or higher or amd turion X2 @ 2.3ghz or higher

    2gb of memory or more

256MB or higher dedicated video card

    160 gb harddrive or more

    Buy a dell,sony or toshiba

  9. First off, I agree with the rest of them. You need 2gb ram or better and definitely more than 60gbs of hard-drive space, I would suggest 160 at the least. Try to get a graphics card too, maybe 512mbs.

  10. All new laptops and PCs come with Vista.  It's a good operating system you'll grow to love it.  Stop being ignorant.
