Not wishing to appear morbid, but I think it would be helpful if, when such accidents as this occur involving the deaths of young people, included in the report should be information as to whether all occupants were wearing seat belts. If not, then hopefully this would highlight the absolute necessity for doing so. Also, though this is probably not known at the time, I think too the public should know whether the car was licensed, insured etc.

  1. I agree with you 100 percent concerning this and the information that should be made public where ever this happens.

  2. I agree with you.

  3. This is not the first time this thing has happened ,,what a shocking Waste of young lives,,,,

  4. i do agree with you on this but at the end of the day its a road traffic accident and those people involved who have died or injured they have a such thing like rights . everything is confidentul untill the crash scene is gone over it like a fine tooth comb  looking for clues how it happened and the clues will be put forward to the corinor and he /she decides how they died . in some cases the seat belts have kert them in the car and in the seat and the car has hit a tree or a lorry and the inpact was so big the inpact killed them so you have to look at it at all angles really . wearing a seat belt can brake bones and do other damage . so what i would think is that a R.T.A is a accident and it could be ato the blame of the driver , other driver  or defects to the car . and the accidents i go to have been 50/50 to be honest you cant balme young people at all times its like every one is sterio typeing them . i have been to accidents where the old drivers have had an art attack and they have plowed in to other cars and killed 6 people  and i have been to  work reps where they have beein going to fast and plowed in to a back of a lorry  i can go on and bore every one . but do think it should be advertised allot on seat belts and bad driveing .  some colleges have open days where we go to with all the emergancey services and do a role play to a realistic state like with two car have hit each other on a head on and we put actors in the cars  and show people what we do to people when they have died  like lineing them up on the road with balck bags over them and show them how the fire crews cut them out and what the police do by doing a act of going to the persons house telling them there loved one has died and it dos show people thats it is a wake up call and it is starting to work . i think they should do more tho to make them learn all over the uk .

  5. In the accident in question, seat belts would have made no difference what so ever.

I would agree with the licence comment, but insurance is of no consequence on this particular incident either.

  6. it was overloaded, say no more, and there was 4 in the back so they werent wearing seatbelts

  7. I don't have all the information, but look how they released the driver of the lorry...  The lorry was on the wrong side of the road... It looks like the driver of the car was either asleep and had swerved towards the oncoming lorry, which tried to avoid the car, or the car driver lost control, headed for the lorry which again tried to avoid it.

As for seat-belts, the only survivor of the crash which killed Diana and Dodi Fayed, was her bodygaurd, who wore his seat-belt.

  8. By what ive read they werent wearing them anyway.

There were 6 people in that car and its only safe for 5 so at least one person wasnt wearing one.  I thought they created a report of the cause and who was at fault, death by.... etc

People who dont wear seatbelts = complete and utter idiots.
