  1. Lavender likes poor soil and lots of sunlight and likes it

dry. Having said that I mistaken planted one at the bottom of my strawberry patch which is fertilized and watered a lot and it is all I can do to keep the darn thing in check  If you move it to a sunnier spot in all probability it will do much much better.

  2. The best lavender in the world grows in the South of France where the soil is poor and there is almost constant sun in the summer. It likes a well drained spot, as it is likely to rot in winter if it is damp.

  3. Lavender comes in all kinds of varieties, perhaps you have a stalk-like plant that has small flowers?  Lavenders don't require a lot of fertilizer, however with regular care it should come back every year.

Try applying phosphorus to your garden soil.  That soil amendment helps plants flower.

  4. Lavendar can be tricky.  If the stalks are still thriving, then it may just be that you need to move it to a sunny location.  They need about 8 hours of sun a day (see below reference)

Also consider the zone in which you live and the soil type that you've planted in.

Good luck!  I love my lavendar and use it in the tub and in cooking!

  5. Sure will!  My daughter planted a couple of plants in 2001 and it is covering over 20 square feet today and packed with flowers.
