Question:

Lawn was cut too short- help!?

Okay... I was using my push reel mower in the dusk, and didnt notice it was set to cut very short. I got a huge chunk of lawn done before I really saw how short it was cutting- it's only like an inch high now!

What can I do now to prevent it from dying and drying out? It rained like mad all day so I'm guessing that helped...

what can I do so my lawn doesn't die??

  1. If it's well-watered take the time to apply a little fertilizer.  Use a multi-purpose 15-15-15 or weed-n' feed in you have some weeds to control 21-3-8  (or thereabouts)

You may be lucky it rained hard instead of having  high temps for a week straight.  You're lawn will be fine.

  2. use fertilizer and water it every day until it grows back again

  3. Your lawn will probably live.  If you water, do so early in the AM before the sun rises.

Next time, pay attention, and if you notice a bad mower setting, fix it right away!

  4. keep it watered

  5. fertilizer and water.

  6. Nothing at all.

  7. It wont die, just water it when it dries out and it will come back without any problem.  You have absolutely no worries.  Look at golf courses, they cut them less then an inch around the holes

  8. What type of grass do you have and what region do you live in?  The rain certainly helped.  If you are in the beaming sun, don't try to water during the heat of the day.  Don't fertilize it.  It will most probably be alright without you doing anything else to it.  Just try to keep people off of it for a few days.  Grass is very hardy, and if you have a "crawling" type, it will crawl on out and survive!!
