Is it illegal to serve alcohol on rented property (outside the building?) My neighbors just informed me that this saturday her and her boyfriend will be getting married behind our apartment building. She said she let us know because we have a baby and she said it will be loud that day. They will be having a dj, a bunch of motorcycles and biker guys, and an OPEN BAR. She hasn't asked anyones permission not even the landlord. She has always been a loud and a problem neighbor but this tops everything. They're are kids living here and I don't want mine around drunk bikers. And I will not feel save in my own apartment.

  1. On rented property, where there are other tenants, you can't and no landlord is going to give an ok for it. There are rules tenants must follow as to not causing a disturbance that affects other tenants. Its called quality of like.

  2. It can be illeagel if kids are living there, and a noise complaint can be filed. That day if you do see a major problem, call the police and tell them that it's too loud, unsafe enviroment. they will most likely tell the others to bring the acohol inside, and cut down the noise.

  3. Well, I would think that if she's having a big party in the back yard she should probably ask the landlord but I don't think that it's against the law to drink on the property you live on or in.  If you will feel uncomfortable maybe it'll be a good reason to go camping for the night or to go on a small one day roadtrip and stay in a hotel.  Have fun!

  4. as long as they are not charging for the alcohol nor serving minors they can do it.  Sorry.  They will have to obey any town noise ordinances, which usually start at 10pm, but check your area to be sure.  After that you can call the police to get them to be quiet.

  5. Yes,

you pay rent for the apartment & the grounds the building stands on.

  6. I would be a ***** and file a noise complaint and who on earth gets married at their apartment complex...I could see if she had a nice house or something but an apartment complex???

  7. No. It is not illegal. If you rent a place you can treat it as your own. Your only responsibility is to the landlord. If noise is the problem, complain to the police or the council.
