  1. Call your state bar association and make a complaint.

  2. I don't get it. Did you pay for a free consultation?

  3. Go to your state bar and file a complaint.  The attorney will say that it's a non-refundable retainer but in most states those are illegal.  You may have to sue her in small claims court but the state bar ought to take care of it.

You might also want to contact a local ombudsman type TV reporter to see if he or she is interested in helping you.

    Good luck!

  4. no

  5. In my area our news station blow the whistle on people. Try contacting you local station and see if they can do a story on the situation.

  6. I don't know but read the fine print.  If you feel you did not get your satisfaction of services from this lawyer...as much as I hate to say it, you may need to consult another lawyer and take her to court.  You might try small claims court as well if you can prove your case.  Look info up in the library to assist you in your decision.  That is too much money to waste.  You could at least brought GAS for the next 6 mos.  Probably what she did with the money.

  7. Sue her in civil court (Small Claims). Lawyers have to earn their fees like anyone else and give an accounting for every dollar. Lawyers are notoriously bad bookkeepers, so she may not even know who you are. I owe a lawyer about $800 over the retainer and haven't heard a word from him in five years since I got the bill that I didn't pay.

  8. Call her let her know you are going to call the state bar.  If says no, call the state bar and file a complaint.  She might get suspended for a few months.

  9. I highly doubt it because you are paying a fee for her to clear her calendar (retainer fee) which basically means you retain her services and she is not going to be working for anyone else during the set times you scheduled. So she is out of work even though you did not have services done by her, she set time aside for you.

  10. sue her/him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
