Do people have to take a domestic violence class ordered by the court, or can they take a different one thats cheaper?

  1. As long as the new program fulfills the same requirements as the court appointed program, it should be fine. If you are the one that pays for it, just bring copies of your paystubs or proof of your financial situation and explain why the cheaper program is financially beneficial; while providing the same level of service.  The Judge should not have an issue with the program switch...good luck.


  2. The probabtion department at the court house will have a list of accceptable classes.  There usually aren't many choices and if there is one at the court house it is usually much less money than outside.  Most of these are available ona sliding scale fee.

  3. The operative here is "ordered by the court"
