  1. Josh Childress signed with a Greek team last week for $20M plus free rent, utilities, car, and a maid. About the only thing he'll have to pay for is his food and $20M will buy you a lot of gyros.

When you consider that pro athletes, especially those in the NBA, are nothing more than money-grubbing whores it's no surprise that one of the biggest names in the league would think about going for the μεγάλα χρήματα.

The only thing James needs to consider is how such a move would affect his income from endorsements here, and if playing in Europe would provide him similar opporunities as a shill.

  2. It's just talk.  If someone ask me would I take a boat load of money to go somewhere I would say yes without a second thought.  It doesn't mean that once the money was offer I would do it.  I would think about all my option first.

    Media just blowing it up.

  3. europe doesn't have 50 million dallars

  4. well if he did get 50 mil a year he probably would, all he wants is money, he doesnt really wanna be great, and he will never be great, cuz that loser is never going to win an NBA title. maybe a europe championship, but not in the NBA!

  5. Noooooooo way

  6. I'll go to Europe for $8 million a game!

    Think Happy Thoughts!

  7. they could, some of the owners are multi billionaires and as most of us know, some european teams care way mroe about winning and boasting than making money since they already have so much.

the olympiacos or whatever owners are multi bilionaires and they signed childress knowing that they wont make money, but hoping he would bring them the ws.

im not saying theyre going to pay lebron 50 mil a year for 5 years or anything, but if they really wanted to gloat in the faces of the other teams, then they might do it for a year or two.

lebron would also get much marketing over in europe, companys would be crazy not to have him represent their brand just because hes not in the states anymore.  im sure the companies that have him signed here would stick with him and market him like crazy in europe.

i mean they endorsed him in china and he became big over there without playing there.

  8. They can since there are no salary caps, just like MLB.

  9. there are many owners in europe with TONZ of money and lebron wants to be a billionair sometime in his life. which is why i think he would CONSIDER it. i hope he doesnt though

  10. Le Brons crazy if he thinks hes going to get 50 mill a year.

  11. yeah some owners are rich. they should get rid of the Salary cap.

  12. I'd do it if I were him. He's getting that kind of money playing in the NBA plus endorsements, The only advantage is just 25 million more dollars or so.

  13. Kobe and Wade said they would take the same amount for 2 years, this is just the topic of the day for all the NBA'ers with a 6th man on the 8th seed in the East getting 20 Mill, untaxed in Greece. But none of them even need to worry about money as is, so there is nothing to worry about.

  14. if they're desperate enough.

you know how big of a star he is. and you gotta spend money to make some, so they moght pay him that

  15. LeBron would be stupid to go to Europe.

    1. He would destroy his image as a baketball player

2.He would lose alot of money and pass up alo of money from future endorsements

Anyways i dont care.  He has a chance to be in the best in the NBA, going to europe would just kill his career with out him knowing it.

I doubt he would go and i dont think they have enough money
