Lead story for newspaper assignment??

Question

for a english assignment we have to create the front page for a newspaper some of the things we have to include to get full marks are:

masthead

ear

lead story

advertisement

price

date

photograph

caption

etc...

but i'm stuck on what to write for my lead story, our teacher said that whatever we wrote we had to write the story ourselves (that is- not copy from a magazine or paper) and it had to be realistic

i named my paper australian times so whatever i write has to be national not just something local. something like the pasha bulka would have been good but thats old news now

pleasee help what can i write about?

Why not write about Matt Mitcham's incredible scoring in the Olympic Diving competition. He came from behind to take the gold away from the Chinese favorite Zhou Luixin. This just happened so you'll be current.

Then you know what I'd do? For advertisements - design ads for swimming pool sales, diving instructions, Chinese restaurants, Chinese language courses, Chinese travel tours - do a whole Olympic theme. (But don't do that if your teacher doesn't have a sense of humor.)
