  1. It'll take you two days to a week to learn would be my best estimate.  It took me two-three days (not in a row) before I could get up and get going and enjoy myself.

Take a lesson.  That's the fastest way to get up and get enjoying the sport.  If you teach yourself you'll find it frustrating and spend more time than necessary on your butt on the side of the run thinking about how much you hate life.  You'll also probably wind up with a lot of bad habits self teaching.  The lesson will teach you all the rules of the hill and make sure that you and everyone else on the hill is safe and having fun.

    Enjoy!

  2. Snowboarding is very hard at first, though once you get the hang of it, you'll find yourself doing quite well.. My suggestion would be to take 1-2 lessons, so you can learn the basics, then go from there with what you now know...Good luck and have fun!

  3. do you like pain?  you can learn in a day if you do.  if you don't then it make take a week to learn.  lessons are a bit overrated but they teach you the basics.

  4. modef to lessons

then try with a friend or family member even if they just ski

its nice to have someone with you
