Left Crank arm is ruined ?

Question

my left crank came loose and i continued riding on it, and from what i hear it is ruined completly, i have Truvativ IsoFlow, what shall i get

1. whole new cranksets - left and right

2. single left crank, but it wont match the other one

are cranks mostly the same shape as other makes or do they widley vary, thanks
