Left channel cuts in and out?

I have a Kicker 06 ZX250.2 wired up to a Kicker component set. The set is rated for 150 watts and I know its not getting more than that. Just recently my left speakers would cut out. I thought it was just the tweeter, but then I realized it was both the tweeter and woofer. I went Through and soldiered all connections for both sides. Still didn't work. Its not as the volume goes up. I'll be driving and it cuts out then comes back. If I turn it up the speakers come back, that's why I thought of a connection. After all the soldering failed I switched the wires on the amp. The left side is the right and vice versa. Now the right side is cutting out, but only at lower volume. I'm thinking the amp, but wanted some other opinions.

  1. you have bad RCA cables i worked on cars when people had this same problem i switched out the RCA's and the sound came back and sounded better. only other thing i could suggest could be the problem is your head unit has a broken connection circuit were the speakers are conncected to and when pressure or something is leaning on the connections the sound will dip in or out. but most likely i just believe its your RCA's. even if you do have the best ones the problem could have been because you had the cables bunched up to close to something and its been bending for so long the connection just bent off and when you turn and it fixes it self periodically or moves back in place where there's a connection will come back.

if that doesnt work then email me a maxmays@tmail.com so i can try to help.

  2. You may want to check the RCA cable from the deck to the amp; that's often a weak point.  Switching the speaker wires on the amp was a very good troubleshooting step, and you can do the same thing with the RCA cables.  Swap the L/R RCA inputs at the amp; if the problem switches too, then you know it's in the RCA cables or the head unit.  If it doesn't switch, then you've isolated it to the amp.
