Legally blonde the musical???

Question

Why have they found a new elle woods?? Is there a certain reason. I saw legally blonde with its original cast. I loved it. I am just woundering why they got a new elle woods, dose anyone know.

Laura Belle Bundy wanted to move on. She didn't want to just be known as Elle Woods her whole life, and also she didn't want that to just be the only broadway role she has ever played. In Broadway, you have to widen your resume, or no one will ever book you for something really big if you've only played on role, because they will think that you won't be able to break the mold of the old character you played.

Broadway performers do 8 shows a week during a run...runs of shows go on for years....if they kept the same actors the whole time, they would be bored and the show would suffer.  Directors choose actors and give them contracts for certain periods of time.  They can choose to stay on with the show later or move onto something else...and they will usually want to go on to something else to stretch themselves as a performer and expand their resume.

because broadway is a really hard life to lead and the original cast normally only stays a years or a little more.  not because they're not wanted, but because it's incredibly hard to do a show almost everyday or get up for rehersal and memorize your lines, so they have to keep finding people to replace the actors before them.  but i know, i love the original cast too!
