Less boats in the water?

who knows how low will the worlds water drops if you eliminate all the boats, ships, and subs out of the water. scientific and serious answers please.

I guess you could make a stab at it by figuring out the displacement of all the vessels in the world put together. Then you would need to know the volume and surface area of the oceans. Then you would need to figure out how many cubic feet all the boats displacement equals and subtract it from the oceans. There are a few calculations I am leaving out. The guy that wanted to know how long is a piece of string had a good point. Why do you want to know the answer to this? My wild guess is that the amount sea level would drop would be negligible and probably immeasurable.

No difference at all.

On our 200 acre lake in the UK (see: http://www.burghfieldsailing.org/index.p... it was calculated that the amount of evaporation on a warm day in summer would be enough to float the QE2 liner! **

So the evaporation from the oceans must be many times greater than the sum of all the boats on it.

** It did need a very special and accurately made "pond" into which the water would be placed, and then the QE2 placed into that. The "pond" would be exactly QE2 shaped, but about 1 or 2 water molecules bigger!

I doubt you could even measure it. And with the ice caps melting the water level is rising anyway, just look at some of the Pacific islands.
