Life after death? Theory and opinion.?

Do you know how when you sleep and dreams that feel like hours are only seconds. What if...and I mean if...when you die, all the synapses in your brain fire off and cause a "afterlife experience". This could cause a moment in time to seem, to the person who is dying, to last for a very long time. In which period, the person could believe or 'create' what every they wanted to be their afterlife experience. It might explain why people who have near death experiences "think" they see their late family and friends. Whats your opinion? Don't get me wrong, I believe there is a higher power, and life is not just by chance. I also believe there is a reason for this life and it is not to just end in a box under ground or a pile of ash in a jar or however

  1. Yes, there is a life after death.  How do I know?  Because think about the one thing that people (normal and not suicidal) want... what is it?  to live forever ... nobody wants to die, yes, all of us have to face it someday, but we don't want to die.  That's why this is a proof that God placed eternity in the human's hearts.  so there is life after death.

  2. Near death experiences have been studied quite a bit... you're sort of reinventing the wheel with your theory.

The suffocation of the brain around the time of death causes hallucinations.

  3. There is no life after death, after all, is not "death" the end of life itself?

I have a friend from highschool who has died twice on the operating table. Once of a short amont of time (30 seconds) and again for a much longer period of time (over 3 minutes). He told me himself that there is nothing. You die, and that's it. No light, no pearly gates, no fires and pools of lava, just nothing.
