Lightning in Cebu?

Question

When I went to Cebu for vacation, i noticed alot of lightnting. But when i noticed this, it wasnt even raining, but I only noticed this at night though. I also noticed that where the lightning was happening, it was near that same, similar spot the day before. Has anyone been to Cebu also notice this?

Note: the lightning kept on occurring in 2-3 minute intervals.

I can't explain it but I have seen these lightnings, too.  More like sparks - short and rapid that seem to come out from behind the mountains.  And yes, they always occur at night on a clear night.  I first noticed this when I arrived from a trip in Leyte.  I was in a boat and we were almost on the northern tip of Cebu.  Then I saw flashes of sporadic lightning and it wasn't even raining.  Since that time,  I never fail to watch these lightnings whenever I have the opportunity.  It can be seen from my island when I go to mainland Cebu at night.

i haven't seen it but i could imagine it.

intermittent flash lightnings are faily common in areas where there is high flash density. maybe cebu is one of those places much like central florida in the usa.
