  1. I use both my flippers to clap. I also use both of them to gesture irony at passing yellow submarines.

  2. Left or right handed is based on which side of your brain is dominated. So primates are will be similar to us. Horses can be put in that range as well. The rest of animals seems to use both sides equally

  3. Animals tend to favor one paw to another as well. Growing up we had two dogs. When we would ask them both to give us their paws, the one would always put up his left, the other would always put up his right. If we motioned for them to do the other, they would but you could tell that it was a little more difficult for them because they would quickly switch back.

And yes, polar bears are left handed.

  4. I think polar bears are lefties (I know I need to get out more)  There was a cat on an advert that ate its food from a can and it was a leftie.  When it died its replacement had to be trained to use its left paw

  5. I've had many pets all my life. And I've paid attention to this. I have observed dogs and cats when they've used their sense of touch. And yes, they do seem to have a preference for left or right.

  6. Hounds appear to have a better side when cornering and I immagined this was down to left, right pawedness? Ducks seem the same with beak under wing for a snooze. Horses definately have a good side, left or right. Yeah, I think it is for them as it is for us.
