Linksys Router Issues?

Whenever i connect to my router with one computer it disconnects the other computer from the internet.Plz help? I have a Linksys Router. Its not a huge deal because both computers work fine once they are up however, if my laptop goes to sleep while im playing games one my desk top BOOM instant d/c so it gets kinda annoying. Thank you for the help.

  1. You'll have to port forward. Search port forwarding on google.  


  2. they probably have the same ip address, go to command promp and type ipconfig/all it will show the ip address, if there both the same ,in one of them  type ipconfig/release and hit enter,then use your network setup wizard to reset connection, leave the outher comp on so the router assigns a different address

  3. well close your laptop while playing games, that way it wont go to sleep in the middle of your session. or turn off the sleep function on your laptop.

  4. Both computers have the same IP address.  If this happens more than once or twice, it's usually because you have assigned addresses to both computers, and have assigned the same address to both of them.  The IP address (not gateway or DNS addresses) should be in the range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 for Linksys.  (The router is at .1 and .0 and .255 are reserved.)  It can happen by itself once in a great while - rebooting or repairing the connection (release/renew) will fix it, but if it happens all the time, it's a setup error or a very strangely broken router.
