If yes then, Brisbane was formed as the brisbane bears in 1986 then in 1997 the merged with footscray to become the lions they have won 3 premierships as the lions (01,02,03) before being beaten in their 4th consecutive grand final by port adelaide, they have battled along ever since not even getting into the top 8, since port adelaide beat brisban sydney defeated west coast in 2005 and in 2006 west coast returned the favour defeating sydney in the grand final after winning the dalley.m trophy (minor premiership which is on top of ladder after the 22 hame and away matches)

they won the premiership in 2001 against essendon and 2002 and 2003 against collingwood. since they lost in 2004 to port adelaide in the grand final, they have struggled to be consistent enough to be a premiership winning side.

they are currently in the rebuilding phase and if johnathon brown can remain injury free, they are a chance next year under coach leigh matthews.
