Location of radio antenna?

I have a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SLE, and I recently had an after market Alpine head unit and audio system installed as well as a window tint put on. However, when I got it back, I tried testing out the new features and I was not happy with what I heard. The FM radio had more static than myfactory headunit, and I could not get any AM station either. I know, I know, hardly anyone listens to AM anymore, but I still use it for traffic once in a while....

I went back to the installer and told him that the reception for FM was not very good (I did not know about the lack of any AM stations at that point). He said that the window tint would have an effect on the reception since my antenna was an internal antenna. Where is the antenna located in my Bonneville? Is there any way to get better reception without ripping off the tint? And would the tint cause the AM reception to disappear completely? I paid good money for this system, and everything else sounds amazing...

well if you dont see it then its make into the window and no i dont think soif it work before and it dont work now think maybe they didnt do the job right

There is a very good chance that the installer simply forgot to plug the antennae back into Alpine after installation. It is a simple mistake and most shops will test your new install with a CD, not radio stations.

If possible, look up behind the unit and see if you see a black cable with a connector on the end dangling behind the unit.

I've installed thousands of car radios and never heard of tint affecting the reception. Have them pull the head and double-check the connections.
