It's an Irish Wolfhound called Digger

The London Irish mascot is an Irish wolf hound, but his name is Mr Doyle and is owned by some good friends mine and before him it was an Irish wolf hound called Jumbo also owned by my good friends, but alas poor old jumbo has now passed away and so Mr Doyle who was his understudy has replaced him in this role

              

Digger is a man dressed in a Irish wolf hound costume, but is not the official mascot.
