I live in zone 3 and work in zone 3 and I use the bus and train to get to work, however I have to get a travelcard for zones 2-6 which is £30.40 weekly, as you cant get one for just one zone!

Is there another way I can travel or another pass I can get to save some cash...

  1. Rates not including travel in Zone 1

    Zones 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 or 5-6

    7 day £15.60 month £60.00

    Zones 2-4, 3-5 or 4-6

    7 day £20.20 monthly £77.60

    Zones 2-5 or 3-6

    7 day £24.20

  2. You could just buy  bus pass which is cheaper and bus it all the way.  The reason they're so expensive is because although you may live and work in the north section of the zone 3 you are still able to travel to the end of zone 6 in all directions should you so wish.  You could buy an annual travelcard which is also cheaper.  Some companies do annual travelcard loan where they take the monthly money out of your pay (ask HR).

  3. If you have a slight disability you can take advantage of it and get a Freedom pass.  You can get one of these if you have a disability like Dyslexia even.  If you do have anything like this take advantage of it.

A freedom pass is free for the Trains and Tubes and of course Buses.

  4. pay as you go, so you only get charged for your journey, and you top up the money on your oyster card when you run low.
