  1. yes it seems incredible but we're still surviving ... a lot of people in London don't own a car and rely solely on public transport ... I'm lucky that I've managed to get a parking space in the car park at work (it's only big enough for one tenth of the number of people in the building so getting the right to park there is like gold dust)

  2. In most of London cars are not a neccesity because the transport links are fairly good. I'm not allowed to drive due to a medical condition but I live in London so this is not a major problem. I can get into work about six different ways even if the tube is shut.

  3. Yep its not the cheapest place in the world to live... luckily being paid in pounds helps!

  4. First, wages in London are higher than the rest of the country.

Second, you really dont need a car to get around in London.

Third, its local and national government policy to try to deter car drivers from entering the city.

  5. well I dont live in london but I just dont think many people in london own a car because their transportation system is amazing. only i think very very rich high class have cars

  6. Noticing that I'd used my car once in three months and selling it helped, as does having a London salary.

  7. My calclator says the current price for petrol is actually $11 per gallon.

We are just about surviving - it may help a bit to remember that a UK gallon is bigger than a USA gallon which means that on exactly the same car you get more miles to the gallon in the UK than you would in the USA.
