Make sure you pack plenty of clean clothes (especially socks and underwear) and whatever toiletries you think you might need (i.e. soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and a toothbrush).

I would also recommend packing at least one book or magazine to keep yourself occupied during the more boring parts of the trip. I myself go on long road trips with my family fairly frequently, and on those trips, I usually pack some crossword puzzles; my travel-sized chess set and a slim chess book or magazine; a hand-sewing project I'm working on; or some combination thereof -- depending on how long the trip is going to take and how interesting (or dull) I think the trip is going to be!
