Question:

Looking for DSLR Travel insurance?

I'm looking for a one off travel insurance for my camera.

I only want a one off because I wouldn't be traveling that must about anyway. So i'm not looking for these ones with a year payment or monthly, just a one off for a travel on holiday.

Would this be possible is my first question?

Second Where or Who with?

This would be most helpful if you could please.

Thanks you for your time.

  1. The best way to cover the camera is as an extension of a home or business policy.  This will provide All Risks cover world wide.  This will cost between £2-3 Per hundred sum insured of the camera and will include all cover i.e. theft, accidental damage.  Call your broker for a quote.  If you don't have contents it will be cheaper to take out a contents policy and add the camera rather than trying to find a specific policy simply due to the number of insurers who do specialist insurance.  (UK Anyway)

    Good Luck

  2. you need a product insurance your camra can be insured, yes it is possible with one time payment for more information you must visit some site

  3. You can schedule your camera on your homeowners, condo or renters policy.  This will probably be the best way to get you the most broad coverage.  By scheduling your camera you will be avoiding the deductible.  This is probably the best coverage for the most reasonable amount of money.  Good Luck.

  4. Check here for Niche insurance:

You should find what you are after.

    All the best

  5. Further to Angel's excellent answer.....

I have a DSLR and it's covered under my home contents policy for damage/loss whilst on holiday. Some contents policies (the pricier ones as you'd expect) include travel coverage as standard (but not ALL so don't assume - Check!) for cameras worth up to a certain amount (1,500 in my case which is fine for my D70s). Even if they don't it costs peanuts to add, if you live with your parents they can add it to their policy. Much cheaper and easier than trying to find a one off policy.

Don't forget to include the value of additional lenses, flashguns accessories etc in the amount you insure !

    Have a good trip
