  1. I had a Cuisinart when they were still made in France and then the name was sold to a Japanese company. The product was totally different. Mine ended up being tagged Robot Coupe and I had it from the mid 70s to just recently. It was the disks that ended up falling apart. The Kitchen Aid is great and with all of the attachments including the two bowls it seems to be more economical (about $300.00 Canadian with taxes at Linens'n'Things or any of the large department stores) than the current Cuisinart model. As you have already read, it needs to be kept out where you will use it.

  2. Cuisinart... I use it almost everyday. This one is 7 years old and never have any problem.

  3. I have a Cuisinart that I use all the time. I've had it for a few years. You can chop things like vegetables, cookies and crackers for recipes, fruits, shred cheese etc. It makes my life a LOT easier.

  4. KitchenAid, CuisineArt & Krups are your 3 best mid priced food processors.  They work well, are easy to clean and last the longest.  You can find them on sale at various stores that sell housewares & small kitchen appliances.

  5. I have a Kitchen Aid.  It cost about $200 on sale. A cheap food processor isn't worth owing.

Mine has two bowls.  A large one and a little mini bowl.  I use them both.  I keep my processor on the counter and use it several times a week for:

mixing biscuit dough & bread dough

    pie crusts

    making salsa

    salad dressings

    cheese spreads

    grating potatoes and carrots

    making bread crumbs,  cracker crumbs

    perfect for making chicken salad.

slicing and shredding large quantities of veggies

If you  don't have an application in mind for buying a food processor, save your money.   If you have to hide it away in a cabinet, forget it.   It's to heavy to pull in an out of the cupboard every other day.

I looked at a couple of Cuisinart processors.  I got the Kitchen Aid because I wanted that mini bowl and I'm glad I have it.  But the Cuisinart machines looked well made.  They also cost more than the one I bought.
